As a new Vista user, I’m excited to see this new version come out soon. I’m a Hog loyalist, and while I have had my fair share of frustrations switching to a new system, the Vista seems like a good product. It’s great to see that it’s being made better, and I hope to see two major areas improved upon.

First, being able to run the console more efficiently in a “live programmer” type mode would be most helpful. I’m sure this comes from my experience with the Hog platform, which it does very well, but for many of my shows, I have to run looks and modify them on-the-fly due to the nature of the shows. Sometimes things in the show change, and I can’t always have the time to pre-program to account for every possible change.

Secondly, building some kind of iPod Touch/iPhone App would help tremendously for remote focusing and programming purposes. The upcoming release of the iPad will only make this kind of thing more valuable. Of course, being able to run the show away from the console (eg – sitting in the audience or even on-stage!) would be a cool added bonus to such an app, too.

In any case, I can’t wait to see how Byron works out!

I really want to know when I can get my hands on a copy of this OS. I love the vista, have used a T2 for 3 years now. I think this release sounds good I just want to play with it and see for my self:)
